What is calculated, what is interpreted, what is judgement
Most AI astrology blurs these together. Keeping them apart is the difference between a useful tool and a confident guess.
The astronomy
Where each graha stood at your birth, your ascendant, the boundaries of your dasha periods. This is arithmetic with a right answer, and it can be verified against any professional ephemeris.
The interpretation
What a Saturn in the 7th is held to mean. These are rules from classical texts — Parashara, Jaimini and their commentators. Coherent and internally consistent, but not empirical claims.
The judgement
Which of a hundred applicable rules matters for you, right now. A practising astrologer weighs this against knowing you. Software does not, and pretending otherwise is where AI astrology usually goes wrong.
Where AI genuinely helps
The mechanical work of astrology is real work. Casting a chart by hand from an ephemeris and a table of houses takes an experienced astrologer the better part of an hour, and it is the part most prone to slips. Software does it in milliseconds and does not get tired.
Interpretation benefits differently. A birth chart generates an enormous number of applicable rules — house lords, aspects, dignities, nakshatra lords, dasha sequences, divisional charts — and holding them in view at once is exactly the sort of synthesis a language model is good at. It can also explain a term the moment you ask, without you feeling foolish for asking.
Where it does not
A model has no way to know that the career question you asked is really about a marriage, or that you are frightened rather than curious. It cannot decide which of forty valid readings is the one you need. And it has an unhelpful instinct to answer everything, when sometimes the honest response is that the chart says very little.
That is why this site's AI is instructed to work only from your computed placements, to cite the ones it used, and to say plainly when the chart does not support an answer. It will also refuse to predict a death, and will hand any medical, legal or financial question back to a professional.
What we do not claim
Vedic astrology is a traditional practice rooted in belief. There is no scientific evidence that planetary positions influence human affairs, and nothing on this site should be read as asserting otherwise. What we do claim is narrower and testable: that the chart we calculate is the chart the classical rules describe, and that the reading you get is derived from it rather than invented.
